Aims:

To provide a basic understanding of selected topics in immunology, virology and eukaryotic microbiology and a solid platform for more advanced courses.
To understand how information is acquired by experimentation and utilization of various information sources.

Objectives:

At the completion of the course, students are expected to:

have a basic knowledge of immunology, virology and eukaryotic microbiology.
be able to conduct simple microbiological experiments, present and interpret results.
have gained experience of acquiring information from the scientific literature, both in its printed and electronic forms and to present it in a written form.
have reinforced key IT skills such as word processing, using a graphics package and sending information over the campus computer network.
